Field day held July 10, 2008
Over 200 people attended the afternoon and evening
tours and training session. Participants learned about soil testing
and tissue sampling, cover crops, current wheat issues, strip till
machines from John Deere and Case IH, and soil health and
properties. A meal was served during the event with root beer floats
offered by the Wild Rice envirothon team, North Dakota first place
finishers, who were raising money to go to the national competition
in Flagstaff Arizona. "Farm Talk with Mick Kjar" was broadcast live
from the field day, with many participants getting a chance to go on
air with Mick.
